GeekgirlXX, I'm sooo glad you're on this board! Now someone can actually keep us updated about everything. Thanks for being so awesome! Most band members wifes would think they're too cool for this! Thanks again!

Then Curt filled his shoes. I assume he got the hook up thru Jonny Two-bags. Curt worked with the Cadillac Tramps for many years, and still does when he's not on tour with SD.
Return of Junkie and Mom13 from the board were pretty good friends with her. Hopefully, I'll see them at the Vegas show. If so, I'll ask if they have heard from Patti (RW).

I've been a fan for many, many years, geez I AM old, but I take my sons aged 8,11 & 17 to see shows and they love Social D! Can't get out to the Pomona show, keeping my fingers crossed they'll play house of blues like they have in the past! By the way, my 17 yr old son, a jr in high school here in The OC, was given detention and his Social D jacket was confiscated Friday at school. Can you freaking believe that shit! They said that the skeleton with the martini glass promotes drinking and drug use. What a crock!

That is so lame that they took his jacket. I hope he got it back already. If not, I'd be going down there raising some hell! I'm looking forward to my son being a teenager. If the school gives him a hard time.....I'm going to give them a hard time back....make up for my teenage years.

Yeah, went down to Huntington Beach High and got that jacket back. Told them that Social Distortion was a band that has been around for 20 plus years and that all they do is play some great music. Damn campus cops, think they'd have something better to do. My 17 yr old is a big fan of Social D thanks to me playing their music and going to shows since before he was even born! So he can really relate to Social D's music. He gets hassled by the cops for riding his motorcycle and driving his hot rodded Rancero around HB, now he's lost his license for 6 mos. Now he strums some of Social D songs on his guitar but he's a drummer at heart. Never met Mike Ness, have always thought he was cool! Looks better now than he did 20 years ago when I first saw them at the Cuckoos nest in the 80's, I think it was. Been a fan ever since. Now at 41, I still love his music. He is very charismatic.

I read in an interview last year Mike said they're doing 4 cycles of the U.S. Hope that helps.

Well Erica, I'm 41 and my oldest is 17. I grew up in Huntington Beach and being a punker in the late 70's, early 80's wasn't easy there, especially for a girl. It was pure rebellion for me, but I loved every minute of it. It wasn't an easy life, people were not used to mohawks and piercings like they are now on kids. I was in LA every weekend seeing various punk acts. but my all time fave then and now is still Social D.HB cops would hassle us, we seemed more accepted in LA, so that's where we'd hang if we could get a ride, or if we had enough $$ for gas. Only bad part of the punk seen in OC back in the days was the hate part of it. The Nazi, white power stuff was very prevalent, and still kinda is.

Whether it was the cops, or the jocks or Nazi skinheads? Damn it must've been like a warzone back then. You go from the ultimate high of seeing bands like Black Flag and Social D in this new counterculture movement to the ultimate low of having to deal with all the violent aspects of it. I know we've got it good today. At least here in the DC/Baltimore scene, I haven't seen 1 Nazi bonehead in the years I've been going to shows and the ones I've heard of showing up get destroyed and run out of town.
